Chinese New Year Outreach 2009

This year marked our 4th time partnering with One Voice for Asia in their annual Chinese New Year Outreach. It was the 5th year that they had done the outreach.

There was certainly a different feel to this year's outreach. We all felt that this was a year of breakthrough spiritually in our village. We have had the opportunity to build every year on the relationships and friendships we have made, and we felt a sense of openness that wasn't there in the previous years. Many more people stopped to chat with us, and many people took the tracts that we had displayed on our table. Thank you Lord! Please pray with us that the people who received anything from us would be drawn by God's Spirit, and eventually open their hearts to Him.

There were 3 families altogether in our team. Some people did face painting, some did balloon animals, and some handed out "prizes" that contained candy/cookies and a message about Jesus in Chinese. It was great fun to work together, and to bless the people of our village through the love of Christ.

Caleb had a great opportunity this year to be on the face painting team with Auntie Karen. He has always loved to draw, so it was natural for him to ask if he could do face painting. He had his own little table, with kid sized chairs, and a template of designs that he thought up beforehand. He did a great job, and enjoyed himself very much.

Gracie and Faith were my partners in handing out the prizes, and Gracie was very careful to stamp each child's hand that received something. Faith was mostly supporting while sitting on mommy's lap. :)

Thanks so much for your continued prayers and support as we seek to bring God's love to the people of our village. Please pray that there will be increased openness to the Gospel and for opportunities to share. God bless you!
